(Cumulative) Asset appreciation

Asset appreciation is defined as the increase in value of a real estate property over time. This can occur for a variety of reasons, such as changes in market conditions or increased demand for properties in the area. When a property appreciates in value, it becomes more valuable as an asset and can potentially be sold for a higher price than what it was purchased for.

Usually, real estate properties undergo significant asset appreciation in the first 5 years since they are built, both due to a constant growth of the market and a sales dynamic that makes initial sale prices the lowest in an asset’s valuation history.

That means that most new real estate assets you encounter - and especially those onboarded on the MetaWealth™ app - will rise in value after they are launched on the market. For our users and token holders, this asset appreciation provides a secondary wealth-building stream, in addition to the recurrent rental income they earn.
